I usually book family sessions up to 6 months in advance and for this reason my calendar fils up quickly. You should send through an enquiry as soon as you ca if you have a specific date you’d like to book, particularly for sessions that include extended family.

In terms of the best time of year to have your session, it really depends on what time you want to be out. As outdoor sessions take place an hour or two before sunset, summer sessions usually start around 7pm, whereas winter sessions start at a more toddler-friendly 3-4pm.

I’ve created images for thousands of families in my more than 15 years working as a photographer and I have more than a few tricks up my sleeve that help me to capture beautiful images of even the most reluctant of kids (or husbands!).

My outdoor sessions are very casual and designed to help everyone feel relaxed. We’ll chat and explore and I’ll observe the unique ways your family connects & create images that showcase your love for one another in a way that’s fun and true to each family member’s personality.

Family sessions take place at some of my favourite locations around the Hawkesbury region. During our planning call we’ll go over the look you want to achieve in your images and I’ll suggest some locations based on that. If you have property in the Hawkesbury we can also shoot there.

Outdoor family sessions generally take place about an hour or two before sunset, and typically on weekday afternoons. A small number of Sunday afternoon sessions are available upon request.

Ladies have the option of choosing a dress from my client wardrobe so they feel comfortable and amazing during the shoot! I suggest everyone wears neutral colours with no pictures or logos. You can check my Instagram feed for inspiration on what to wear, most of the dresses you'll see there are from my client wardrobe.

Once your session is booked in you’ll also be sent a comprehensive prep guide with information on all of the dresses available, as well as advice on choosing outfits for the whole family. We can also chat about this on our planning call.

Illness happens. And with kids it often happens quite suddenly! If you or the kids are sick let me know as soon as possible and we’ll get you rescheduled asap. Due to my work with newborns I’m extra cautious about keeping germ-free so if someone’s coughing or spiking a temperature we’ll postpone.

When it comes to rain, we’ll keep a close eye on the forecast and if it looks like the weather will be bad we’ll postpone. If it’s been very wet before your session we may need to shift locations to avoid mud, but if you’re down for getting a little messy I’m down for that too!
